These strategies are not only possible for a woman with ADHD, but it is also actually do able… so what are these special strategies you are talking about?  A morning routine. So, you may be asking why a morning routine is so important. For a women with ADHD a morning routine is a way to structure your day and make success possible. Below are my unique strategies on setting up a successful and sensible morning routine

Write down all your morning tasks.

-Don’t worry about the order of your tasks, just write down the things that you do in the morning

-Be specific; instead of just saying “get ready” write down things like shower, get dressed, brush teeth, put on makeup

Put Your List In Order

-Group your morning tasks in order according to your location. So, if you are in the bathroom to shower, why don’t you stay there and brush your teeth.

-Try to imagine doing your morning routine as you put it in order. Does each step of your routine feel like it is in the right place?

Post It

-I know that may sound silly, but this step is very important due to you will need to do your morning routine the same order every day and so stop re-exact same order every time so you can stop re-inventing the wheel. Once you have it written down post it in a place where you can see it when you wake up and where your routine happens (i.e.: your bedroom, bathroom and kitchen)

Plan For Obstacles

-Imagine yourself following your morning routine, what are the things could you imagine could get in your way or throw you off

-What can strategies you navigate those obstacles. For example, you know that you have an early meeting, so instead of starting your routine at 6:45, you can start it at 6:20.

Edit Your Morning Routine-

-If you are seeing that part of your routine is not working out the way you like, then edit it so it works best for you. So, if you are in the middle of drying your hair and it makes sense to get dressed before. Great save your idea and write it down.
